OK. We hit the reset button after a disastrous start to the postseason and focus on how to re-establish some sense of pride in the LCS’s.
Game 1 on Sunday between the Astros and Rays. With Justin Verlander out, Houston’s Framber Valdez (2-0, 1.50 ERA) has stepped up. He’s been extremely effective in both his outings. Limited the Athletics to five hits over seven strong in his latest. Rays, after taking out the Yankees, will hand the ball to Blake Snell (1-1, 3.38 ERA).
Tampa Bay decided not to start him in the decisive Game 5 with New York after he was pounded for four runs over five frames in Game 1. Rays are on a mission, but are just two days removed from an emotional series. Astros made it look easy against Oakland. This series won’t be, but we will take the Astros in Game 1 for 20 units and another 20 units on Houston to win the series.
No one tackled anyone (COVID concerns?) at Chapel Hill. 101 points later, the North Carolina Tar Heels outlasted the Virginia Tech Hokies, 56-45. The Heels scored 21 points in the opening quarter then held on to push their record to 3-0. A win … we’ll take it. Account at -1,175 nagurskis.
